How often have you been told that you need to hold people accountable for their actions? You typically hear this in management or supervisory roles within the corporate world. Employees report to what’s known as “their boss” and are expected to perform their job duties according to company guidelines. When job performance becomes an issue, there’s a known fear that disciplinary action may be taken towards the employee, thus placing their job in jeopardy! Having policies and guidelines in place, sends a message of accountability and motivates employees to NOT SLACK OFF!
These same accountability principles are necessary for self employed entrepreneurs, and personal relationships as well! When it comes to running your own business, you need to discipline yourself and hold yourself accountable! This isn’t the easiest thing to do, which is why most business owners fail. You are your own boss and the success of your company is solely based on your actions! In regards to personal relationships, if there’s an uncalled for behavior happening within a friendship or romantic relationship, you need to IMMEDIATELY address the issue! Given a reasonable amount of time, if the other party fails to understand or comply per se, it would be best to terminate the friendship / relationship! You don’t need anyone in your life weighing you down! Human behavior responds best when fear of loss or repercussion is introduced! When there’s nothing to lose, people value things much less and don’t take certain aspects of your relationship seriously! This leads to disrespectful behavior and taking advantage of others for selfish personal gain!
